Veteran's Day Catering

Each year on November 11, we honor those who have fought for our country. As of last year, there are over 21.8 million veterans living in the United States (Census Bureau). That’s a large portion of the U.S. population, and there are a number of ways to thank and honor these heroic individuals. Whether it’s with a simple “thank you” or putting together a small event, there’s something you can do … something they will appreciate.

If you’re thinking of throwing a Veteran’s Day gathering, as a catering company we’re here to give you a few suggestions when it comes to what you can serve:

Picnic buffets are a great option any time of the year. For us, a picnic buffet is a casual way to serve food where guests can pick and choose what they want to eat and how much. Because Veteran’s Day is in the chilly month of November, an outdoor picnic may not be feasible. But don’t let that stop you. If you want the picnic theme, you can take the outdoors in with decorations and set up your buffet in the warmth indoors.

So, what are some all-American picnic buffet options you can serve? Try one of these ideas:

Build-Your-Own Sandwich & Burger Bar

Another great option for Veteran’s Day is a build-your-own sandwich and burger bar. Nothing is more American than the taste of your favorite sandwich or juicy burger customized to perfection with condiments and fixings. Sandwiches we typically offer are turkey, roast beef, and ham … the classics. This option is great not only because most people enjoy a great sandwich or burger, but also because your guests can make their food exactly how they prefer.

Pork Prime Rib

Slow roasted pork prime rib is always a popular option at Nelson Bros. Cutting Edge Catering. There are a number of ways pork prime rib can be made, but for us, we slow roast the prime rib and serve it with a merlot demi-glaze and Fuji apples. The combination of it all is sure to satisfy your and your guests’ taste buds. Keep in mind this isn’t a “serve yourself” option like the others we suggested, but it is definitely one to keep in mind if you’re event is more formal or a sit-down affair.
